Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

This policy explains how Anecdote PR collects and uses personal information when you visit anecdotepr.com, get in touch with us or work with us. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need, and we never sell your information.

Who we are

Anecdote PR is run by Clemmie Turner and Nicki Williams, trading as Anecdote PR. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at hello@anecdotepr.com.

What we collect

When you email us. If you get in touch by email, we collect your name, email address and anything you choose to tell us in your message, such as your company name or details of your brief.

When you browse the website. Our website collects some information automatically through cookies, such as the pages you visit, your browser and device type and roughly where you are browsing from. You can find more on this under Cookies below.

How we use your information

We use your information to reply to your enquiry and talk to you about working together.

Our lawful basis

Under UK data protection law we need a lawful reason to use your information. We rely on:

  • Legitimate interests for replying to enquiries. We only do this where it is fair and you would reasonably expect it.

  • Consent for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We only share it with trusted services that help us run the business, and only as much as they need:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website

  • Google Workspace, for email and file storage

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: up to 2 years from our last contact

  • Client records: 6 years after the work ends, to meet tax and accounting rules

After that, we delete it securely.

Cookies

Cookies are small files saved to your device when you visit a website. Our website uses:

  • Essential cookies, which make the site work properly and can't be switched off

  • Analytics cookies from Squarespace, which tell us how visitors use the site, only with your consent

When you first visit, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of the page, or through your browser settings.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you

  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete

  • ask us to delete your information

  • object to us using your information, or ask us to limit how we use it

  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by changing your cookie preferences

  • ask us to transfer your information to another organisation

To use any of these rights, email hello@anecdotepr.com. We will reply within one month, and there is no charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
